There is 1240psi of pressure in one square foot of water in a 12’ Waimea Bay wave (Oahu, Hi). That’s intense, If you’ve ever seen the legendary Waimea on a good NW swell, let alone be out there in the water, you’ll witness this power on display. It’s where big-wave surfing was born.

Power is where it’s at! It’s what we all want, right? Not wading-pool dribblers!

1 Corinthians 2:1-5 Faith in God’s power, not man’s wisdom.

False prophets were common in Corinth at this time, the apostle Paul came and proved he was sent by the source. There is so much to learn from Paul’s letters to the church in Corinth, another time we’ll dive more deeply into it. It’s worth it on your own time.

Acts 20:7-12. If you can raise dead people, Like Paul did by God’s power, it looks pretty good on your Christian resume, right? God’s power on display, like a lot of times in scripture.

1^st Thessalonians 1:2-8, this church was on fire! They were tapped into the source. Are you tapping into the source? Spending time in His Word? It’s how to get “powered up” like the swells crossing the ocean to pound the beach in Hawaii. As you know, Jaws, off the North coast of Oahu, they strap-in to stay on their boards. It’s that much power, and our Father invites us to tap in, drop-in, and tuck it into what He’s designed/purposed for you to do as His ambassador.

Jesus still answers prayer, over and over again. Are you seeking this power? Pray! He answers! Sometimes it’s crazy awesome the answers/provision He gives, yet sometimes it’s a no, and it’s for a greater purpose (better in store), and sometimes “wait”, and I know that “no” or “wait” aren’t easy, but know this, it’s for other purposes He may later reveal, and usually better than we could imagine or ever ask for.

Considering Waimea, or the Banzai Pipeline 3 miles down the beach in Oahu, what kind of wave would you be? If you could be a wave?

You wouldn’t want to be a little ankle-slapper with no power, would you?

We should want to be a huge wave, with a spitting barrel tubing for great cover-ups.

As a Christian, we should want to be a Spirit-filled power Christian. Walking in that abundance Jesus came to bring (John 10:10b). Walking and living by the power of Christ Jesus our Lord.
