Joy: Very glad feeling, delight

Rejoice: to Experience Joy to a higher degree

“Rejoice in the Lord always, again I say rejoice!”

Nehemiah 8:9 – You recognize your sin when you first read the LAW found in the Bible. You may be weep-ful as those people in this passage. Nehemiah’s culture was bad, much like our scary times (especially places we don’t belong as believers!)

Philippians 4:4 – Be stoked in the Lord, our joy in Him is based on the love He shows to us!

1 John 4:19 – We love Him because He was first to love us.

Romans 5:8 – If we’re honest, we’re still blowing it, could have been awarded the medal for a “first-class chunk blower” if we’d sincerely look at our past lives, the way we’ve screwed up in our obedience. WWWYS: While We Were yet Sinners… heavy stuff.

Ephesians 2:2-10 – We’re saved by Grace, and HIS workmanship for His work to do!

How do you rejoice in the Lord when times are hard?

Jeremiah 15:16 – Read your Bible “The delight of my heart” (that can be you!)

Ephesians 5:19 – Make music in your heart. It’s crazy how much heavenly music we can find on the radio. If not on the radio, what did you sing at church this past week? Sing/Pray the Psalms! Music helps!

Psalms 24 – He is the King of Glory!

Psalms 16 – “Pleasures forever” sounds pretty good to me! That one really hits me solid!

John 15:9 – Abide in His love!

John 16 – This is a heavy passage from Jesus, in the days before His crucifixion. The just before chapters as well, almost all the way back to 13 are some of my favorites [Ethan here, not from the sermon]. The HELPER is here! Look at verse 24, Ask Him, He answers according to His will!

Acts 8:5-8 – Delight in your ministry! Rejoice!

Hebrews 10:24-25 – Congregating in fellowship is so good. Don’t ever stop, and all the more as you see the day approaching! There is strength in numbers!

1 Thessalonians 2:19 – You, whom I shared the News with, are my JOY.

Colossians 3:17 – Do it as unto Him giving thanks!

1 Corinthians 10:31 – Do everything for Him, in Him do everything by His power!

Habakkuk 3:17-19 – “Yet… (all the bad stuff is happening, check out the context of Habakkuk’s time)…shall I exult in HIM”

2 Corinthians 7:1 Let’s get right with Him, re-center with The Source.

Philippians 4:11-13 – What lies ahead in GLORY (as well as the rest of our future here on earth! Live in the abundance of Him, John 10:10)

Luke 15:4 – Rejoice with me! He is always out for our rescue, our Good Shepherd.
