1 Corinthians 2, God’s power!
Take the drop! Go For it!
What does it take to move in this kind of power? It’s risk/reward, the willingness to risk it for the massive reward. Big waves mean big risk. No guts no glory.
In ministry (we’re all called to be ministers, don’t you ever forget it!) it takes courage. Will Jesus help me? Of course! We can fear that God won’t back us up in a jam.
Acts 3:1-10, The crippled man walks, how did Peter do it?
1. He saw Jesus do it (many times)
2. He was commissioned to do it.
Signs and wonders take huge courage and faith, God will do it in and through us if he were to purpose it. Trust Him, He’s always with us! Be bold in your faith, wise as serpents and meek (not weak) as lambs.
In 1 Samuel 17 David had the confidence! We’ve got to grow in our faith!
1st John 4:13 He has given us His Spirit! Perfect love = NO FEAR
Fear of mistaking
Galatians 2:11 (and following) Paul is ticked off. He’s bummed at Peter’s hypocrisy. Read it!
We’re going to make mistakes, like Peter and Barnabas did, it’s guaranteed, because we’re human. The job is to learn from them, and eventually just learn from other’s mistakes, right?
Fear of man: Acts 5:12-13, You can be shunned for your belief, become the odd man out in your workplace, on your team, yet this is the price to pay for our relationship with God. Again it’s not our place to walk in stupidity, but wisdom like snakes, meek like lambs, humble. It’s OK to lose our worldly “coolness”! We are going to share in His suffering, why do it? God calls us to it.
1 Peter 1: 13-15 This few verses are core, be an obedient child of the Father! Be Holy!
We gotta get in the know – READ YOUR BIBLE – Have a command of the New Testament.
We should take note of behavior → see how your Christian example, mentor, Big Bro, acts/lives! We oughta be able to wipe-out, keep trying, never stop.
